For several years Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely supported, sponsored & encouraged me.
In 1999, together with Niki we created 4 lamps. In contact with the heat generated by the bulbs, the shapes separate, revealing colourful mosaics created by Niki. When the lamp is turned off the shapes return to their original position.
Jean Tinguely was my idol. I had the chance to meet him and participate in the great adventure of the Cyclop.
Jean had imagined a love story between a hammer and a demijohn : the hammer strikes the demijohn, breaking it into pieces.
My own vision was slightly different : the hammer falls but the demijohn does not break but rather disappears into the ground. The sculpture can be seen in this form at the Cyclop.
